If the Wise County school board follows thru with their threats to close the 3 smaller schools, how do you guys think it will affect schedules and who will the remaining teams play?

Are you assuming that the schools close before the start of this school year when asking this question?

If so then that'll be EXTREMELY tough to find games. Probably just look at the schools that lost games and pick up those.

Next year begins a new cycle of scheduling so it wouldn't be that difficult. I look for the Appy-PV school to keep Gate City, Lebanon, and Lee on the schedule. The Wise-Pound school will probably keep it softer for a couple years. Coeburn-St. Paul could finally win the cumberland district!!

Id look for a Coeburn/StPaul combo to return to the LPD to gain one of the 3 teams lost back, and cumberland losing one. Puttin the lpd at PV, JJK, Coeburn and Clintwood.

It would not be all that hard as Nov. 12th is open to most schools on the 3 teams schedules. That helps alot to get the teams able to schedule one another plus I would say alot of those teams already share open dates.

I agree IMHO it would be preatty simple for the WC schools to fill there schedule for 2010 if the consoladation were to happen that quick (Which I do not thik it will)

It would be much tougher for the teams that were scheduled to play one of the 3 schools that were to close

JIB is staying put why would they leave? You have to play schools that size in the state finals might as well play them in the district, you have a 5 team district. cumberland would be 5 too, now if ****enson combines then do they stay LPD or go BDD?
BDD will have grundy, honaker, hurley and the new combined for Football, LPD could pick up Lee if Graham comes down and they go into the district lebanon is in.

didn't they fix that? I thought they went to a enrollment cut off for d-1 and d-2 and getting away from the equal thirds mess that has been a disadvantage for years. isn't that suppose to start next year?

That things never been fully explained as of yet, I've not set down and researched it. if its reseeded as a first rd game would be someone in another region or not. Still we wouldn't go because whats the benefit, it's not as physical of a style and some of the coaches just don't put in the time at other schools that's done in the LPD.

backed 100% on that. in the long run it would hurt us to move.
